Aeroflex to be acquired by Veritas Capital
PLAINVIEW, N.Y., 29 May 2007. Aeroflex Inc. management announced that, in light of the superior proposal received from Veritas Capital of $14.50 per share in cash, it has terminated the merger agreement with affiliates of General Atlantic and Francisco Partners and entered into a new merger agreement with subsidiaries of Veritas in a transaction valued at approximately $1.1 billion.

DRS Technologies to develop prototype refueling system for the U.S.M.C.
PARSIPPANY, N.J., 26 May 2007. DRS Technologies Inc. won a $3 million contract from the U.S. Army's Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) in Warren, Mich., to build a prototype Flatrack Refueling Capability (FRC) system for the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC).

Australia to establish National Nanotechnology Strategy
SANTA CLARA, Calif., 25 May 2007. Australia's Prime Minister John Howard and Industry Minister Ian Macfarlane announced the establishment of a $21.5 million (US $17.8 million) National Nanotechnology Strategy. The four-year strategy is part of the Australian government's $1.4 billion industry statement which also includes tax breaks for R&D investors by extending eligibility for the 175 percent R&D tax concession.

Northrop Grumman awards contracts to LaBarge for military aircraft defense system

U.S. Department of Navy to improve information sharing through CRADA with Tower Software, Booz Allen Hamilton

The Department of the Navy has selected Tower Software, along with Booz Allen Hamilton, to assist in the evolution and wide-spread deployment of the Navy's correspondence management system (CMS). Under the cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA), the two parties will assist in the evolution of the existing Navy CMS to develop a Navy and Department of Defense (DOD) enterprise-wide solution.
