Airbus selects Dassault Systèmes' Simulia realistic simulation solutions for nonlinear structural analysis PROVIDENCE, R.I., 24 May 2007. Airbus has adopted the Abaqus Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software from Simulia, the Dassault Systemes' brand for realistic simulation, as its preferred solution for static nonlinear FEA. Dassault Systèmes (DS) develops 3D and product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions.
Aeroflex Board declares Veritas offer superior, prepares to terminate merger agreement with General Atlantic and Francisco Partners PLAINVIEW, N.Y., 23 May 2007. Aeroflex Inc.'s Board of Directors has determined, in accordance with the terms of the merger agreement with affiliates of General Atlantic and Francisco Partners, that the revised proposal received from Veritas Capital, pursuant to which Aeroflex's stockholders would receive $14.50 per share in cash, constitutes a superior proposal.
Veritas Capital submits revised acquisition bid to Aeroflex PLAINVIEW, N.Y., 23 May 2007. Aeroflex Inc. has received from Veritas Capital a revised non-binding proposal for the acquisition of Aeroflex. The revised proposal is not subject to any further due diligence by Veritas but is subject to termination of Aeroflex's merger agreement with affiliates of General Atlantic and Francisco Partners and execution of a definitive merger agreement.
Intel, STMicroelectronics and Francisco establish new semiconductor company SANTA CLARA, Calif., 23 May 2007. STMicroelectronics, Intel, and Francisco Partners have entered into a definitive agreement to create a new independent semiconductor company from the key assets of businesses which last year generated $3.6 billion in combined annual revenue. The new company's strategic focus will be on supplying flash memory solutions for a variety of devices, including high-tech equipment.
Dynamics Research Corporation on team awarded $5 billion VETS GWAC contract ANDOVER, Mass., 22 May 2007. Dynamics Research Corporation is part of the Penobscot Bay Media (Pen Bay) team awarded the veterans technology services government-wide acquisition contract (VETS GWAC), a small business contract for service-disabled veteran-owned (SDVO) small technology firms. Under the terms of the contract, DRC will provide services in the areas of systems operations and maintenance and information systems engineering.
Federal Aviation Administration names Intertek Group as certification agency for visual guidance lighting equipment approval program BOXBOROUGH, Mass., 22 May 2007.Intertek Group plc, a leader in testing, inspection and certification, has been named a certification agency for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) visual guidance lighting equipment approval program(VGLEAP). The program includes the testing and certification of lighting and visual aid equipment, such as runway approach lighting, to applicable FAA standards for safety, performance, and quality.
Raytheon selects BAE Systems' hyperspectral technology for shared reconnaissance pod target cueing system GREENLAWN, N.Y., 21 May 2007. BAE Systems has been named sensor subcontractor for Raytheon Technical Services Company's Shared Reconnaissance Pod (SHARP) Target Cueing System demonstration. Under a $2.3 million contract with Raytheon, BAE Systems will use its Spectral Infrared Imaging Technology Testbed (SPIRITT) high-altitude hyperspectral technology to automatically detect, classify, and identify camouflaged and concealed targets based on their spectral signature.
U.K. Ministry of Defence selects Raytheon MicroLight radio for Army's FIST program trials MARLBOROUGH, Mass., 21 May 2007. Raytheon Company's MicroLight radio has been selected by the Thales Prime Contracting Management Office, acting on behalf of the U.K. Ministry of Defence, as the core communications system for the operational effectiveness trials in the assessment phase of the U.K.'s Future Integrated Soldier Technology, or FIST, program.
