U.S. Army contracts Raytheon to provide sensors for force protection WALTHAM, Mass., 20 May 2007. The U.S. Army has awarded a $10.1 million contract to Raytheon Co. to provide towers arrayed with sensors to help protect U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Axiom Design Automation acquires SysChip Design Technologies MILPITAS, Calif., 19 May 2007. Axiom Design Automation management has announced the acquisition of SysChip Design Technologies, a privately held verification tools and services company, headquartered in Bangalore, India. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Barco supplies head-up repeater displays for Czech Air Force L-159 cockpit conversion project ATLANTA, Ga., 18 May 2007. Visualization specialist Barco has won a contract from AERO Vodochody a.s., Odolena Voda, Czech Republic, to deliver cockpit head down displays for integration into the L-159 trainer fleet of the Czech Air Force. The contract is part of a conversion program aimed at rebuilding four single-seat L-159s into two-seat trainer versions.
GigaBeam receives wireless fiber orders from Department of Defense HERNDON, Va., 18 May 2007. GigaBeam Corporation, provider of ultra-high-speed point-to-point wireless solutions such as WiFiber wireless fiber, has received follow-on orders totaling approximately $350,000 from a reseller for the Department of Defense.

L-3 Communications' MPRI subsidiary, a global provider of vehicle and maritime simulation training, products, and services, has been selected by the U.S. Department of State (DOS) as one of three awardees for the DOS Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) contract.
General Dynamics to study control of U.S. military, government encryption devices SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., 17 May 2007. General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, has been awarded a $2.2 million task order from the U.S. Air Force Cryptographic Modernization Program to conduct a proof of concept study proposing standards for monitoring and controlling National Security Agency-certified cryptographic devices.
Lockheed Martin selects GE Fanuc Embedded Systems for subsystem for non-line-of-sight launch system CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., 17 May 2007. GE Fanuc Embedded Systems' recent acquisition, Radstone Embedded Computing, has been selected by Lockheed Martin's Littoral Ships & Systems business to provide the processing subsystem that will control the non-line-of-sight launch system (NLOS-LS) platform commissioned by the U.S. Army.
Pascall Electronics Ltd. receives $1.2 million in military power supplies orders RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., 16 May 2007. Pascall Electronics Ltd., a subsidiary of Emrise Corporation, a multinational manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, has received orders from a U.S. military program for power supplies worth in excess of $1.2 million for delivery throughout 2008.
Wind River and Curtiss-Wright partner to deliver integrated product and service offerings for aerospace, defense ALAMEDA, Calif., 16 May 2007. Wind River Systems, maker of device software optimization (DSO) solutions, and Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing, manufacturer of VME, VPX, and CompactPCI products, have entered into a partnership. Curtiss-Wright's Linux Center of Excellence will support Wind River's General Purpose Platform, Linux Edition and the Wind River Real-Time Core for Linux solution as the company's standard Linux operating environments for use on its x86-based platforms.
Curtiss-Wright, Seaweed Systems to bring OpenGL graphics to rugged, deployed defense and aerospace platforms LEESBURG, Va., 16 May 2007. Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing, a designer and manufacturer of rugged deployed commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) VME, VPX and CompactPCI products, has partnered with Seaweed Systems Inc. to make Seaweed's SeaWind OpenGL embedded graphics solutions available on high-performance embedded graphics platforms for the defense and aerospace market.
