General Dynamics to provide U.S. Army with satellite on-the-move antenna system NEWTON, N.C., 7 May 2007. General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies has been awarded an order under the World Wide Satellite Services contract to provide Ku-band on-the-move satellite communications terminals to the U.S. Army. General Dynamics will provide a Warrior Model 20-20 Satcom-on-the-Move (SOTM) antenna system for verification and testing. The total potential value of the award if all options are exercised is $28 million over three years.
Boeing and iRobot partner on small unmanned ground vehicle ST. LOUIS, 7 May 2007. Boeing and iRobot Corp. have signed a teaming agreement to design and develop a next-generation, small unmanned ground vehicle (SUGV), called the SUGV Early. The vehicle will provide military, civil, and commercial users with reconnaissance and secure, real-time intelligence capabilities.
EDO Corp. assists U.S. Army with force protection system NEW YORK, 7 May 2007. EDO Corporation has received a $15 million follow-on award for expanded support of the Army's force protection system known as C-RAM (counter rocket, artillery, and mortar). The task order was effective April 1 and includes in-theater support.
Lockheed Martin delivers sixth and final towed array for undersea surveillance WASHINGTON, 6 May 2007. The Navy has taken delivery of the sixth and final twin-line 29A Array (TL-29A), a passive, low-frequency sensor system towed by the T-AGOS surveillance ship. The final array was delivered to the surveillance community in March 2007. Each array, built by the Maritime Systems and Sensors division of Lockheed Martin in Syracuse, N.Y., is comprised of a chain of acoustic, telemetry, and interface modules linked together in an integrated system.
CVI to acquire Melles Griot ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., 5 May 2007. CVI has signed an agreement with Barloworld Scientific Ltd. to acquire Melles Griot. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, but it is expected to close by the end of May.
Vecima finalizes acquisition of Spectrum Signal Processing BURNABY, B.C., 4 May 2007. Spectrum Signal Processing Inc. has been acquired by Vecima Networks Inc. in a transaction valued at roughly $10 million Canadian. As a result of the Arrangement, Spectrum becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vecima.
L-1 Identity Solutions to acquire Advanced Concepts Inc. STAMFORD, Conn., 4 May 2007. L-1 Identity Solutions Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire Advanced Concepts Inc. (ACI). Based in Columbia, Md., ACI provides information technology and network security solutions, and systems engineering and development services, for the U.S. Intelligence and military communities. The acquisition of ACI will provide L-1 with access to a wider customer base within the U.S. government and will add a greater depth of complementary services.
Dynamics Research Corp. joins Quantech Services team on Air Force PASS contract ANDOVER, Mass., 4 May 2007. Dynamics Research Corporation is on the winning Quantech Services Inc. team for the U.S. Air Force's Electronic Systems Center (ESC) Professional Acquisition Support Services (PASS) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract which has a ceiling value of $800 million for the next five years.
European military electronics markets set to jump to $15 billion in 2008 FALLS CHURCH, Va., 4 May 2007. The European defense electronics market -- excluding all platforms and weapon systems -- will grow to $15 billion next year, up 11 percent from $13.5 billion projected for 2007, according to analysts at market researcher Documental Solutions LLC in Falls Church, Va.
Lockheed Martin contracts EDO Corp. for radar, electronic support measures for P-3C aircraft NEW YORK, 3 May 2007. Lockheed Martin has selected EDO Corporation to provide the ALR-95 tactical radar Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and surveillance system for seven P-3C aircraft. The contract is valued at more than $8 million with deliveries beginning in mid-2008.
