Odyssey Systems among eight firms awarded $800 million U.S. Air Force PASS contract
WAKEFIELD, Mass., 3 May 2007. Odyssey Systems Consulting Group is one of eight contractors awarded the Professional Acquisition Support Services (PASS) contract to provide advisory and assistance support services to the U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center (ESC) at Hanscom Air Force Base (AFB), Mass.; Gunter AFB, Ala.; Hill AFB, Utah; Lackland AFB, Texas; Maxwell AFB, Ala.; Petersen AFB, Colo.; Tinker AFB, Ok.; Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio; and other operating locations worldwide.

Cooper Industries to acquire MadahCom Inc., maker of wireless mass notification systems for military
HOUSTON, 3 May 2007. Cooper Industries Ltd. has announced the acquisition of MadahCom Inc. for $43 million. MadahCom, based in Florida, is a privately owned manufacturer of secure wireless emergency control and Mass Notification Systems (MNS). With sales of approximately $22 million of hardware, software, and installation services in 2006, it currently has more than 200 installations worldwide at military, government, commercial sites, industrial locations, and other campus environments.

Department of Defense certifies first IPv6-capable routers, Juniper Networks M and T series meet DOD IPv6 conformance, interoperability requirements
SUNNYVALE, Calif., 2 May 2007. Juniper Networks' M- and T-series routing platforms are the first network routers to be certified for the Department of Defense Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Capable Approved Products List. The Office of the Secretary of Defense National Information Infrastructure has mandated that all program managers purchase products from the IPv6 APL, in keeping with the directive that defense organizations transition network backbones from IPv4 to IPv6 by 2008.

Christie system used in Rockwell Collins/STS simulator
Cologne, Germany, 2 May 2007. Rockwell Collins' engineers selected Christie's projection solutions to power the visualization system for two full-dome simulators for training Saudi Air Force Tornado aircraft pilots. The domes will each feature 11 Christie Matrix 4000 3-chip DLP projectors and marks the first time that 3-chip DLP technology will be utilized in high-performance fast-jet simulators.

U.S. Army contracts Overwatch for software development
AUSTIN, Texas, 2 May 2007. The U.S. Army has awarded Overwatch Systems, an operating unit of Textron Systems, company, a contract that includes approximately $8 million for software licenses and services.

LGS selects Thales' SONET Datacryptor encryptors for Department of Defense deployment
WESTON, Fla., 1 May 2007. Thales, a provider of cryptographic security products and services and ID management solutions to governments and financial networks, has announced that LGS, a subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent, will deploy the Thales SONET Datacryptors as a part of the Army's Infrastructure Modernization Program.

Training and simulation solutions increasingly sought by U.S. military according to Frost & Sullivan analyst

L-3 Communications Link Simulation and Training delivers F/A-18C/D aircrew flight trainers to U.S. Marine Corps
NEW YORK, 30 April 2007. L-3 Communications' Link Simulation and Training (L-3 Link) division has delivered two F/A-18C/D Aircrew Flight Trainers (AFTs) that have achieved ready-for-training status to U.S. Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar, Calif.

BAE Systems to sell Inertial Products business
ROCKVILLE, Md., 30 April 2007. BAE Systems has signed a definitive agreement to sell its Inertial Products business to J.F. Lehman & Co. The Inertial Products business supplies military and commercial customers inertial sensors and measurement units for the control, navigation, and guidance of fixed- and rotary-winged aircraft, precision weapon systems, missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, aerial targets and drones, tanks, and fighting vehicles.

MDI receives order for strategic U.S. Naval Support Center $1M security modernization project in Europe
SAN ANTONIO, 30 April 2007. MDI Inc., a provider of Unified Technology solutions for the security industry, has received the first of several purchase orders as the company's part of a $1 million security modernization project for a U.S. naval support center located in Europe.
