World's top 30 MEMS companies increase revenues 42 percent to $37 million in 2007
LYON, France, 26 June 2008. Hewlett Packard and Texas Instruments remain the world's two leading manufacturers of micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS), according to the newly revised ranking of global MEMS companies by sales in 2007 from Yole Développement in Lyon, France.

British Army aviation trainer upgrade awarded to Rockwell Collins
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa 25 June 2008. Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, won a $5.5 million contract to upgrade the British Army's Aviation Command and Tactics Trainer (ACTT), which is part of the Mission Command Trainer (MCT) simulation and modeling system.

Elop acquires hyperspectral imaging specialist Bar-Kal
REHOVOT, Israel, 24 June 2008. Elbit Systems Electro-optics Elop Ltd. in Rehovot, Israel, is acquiring Bar-Kal Systems Engineering Ltd. in Netanya, Israel. Bar-Ka specializes in hyperspectral imaging remote sensing for defense and government-related applications, and does much work for the Israeli government.

Falmouth, Mass., is a leading manufacturer of autonomous underwater gliding vehicles, as well as autonomous profiling drifters and floats. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

QualSec enters $2 billion homeland security market
