Thermal management growing to $11.1 billion worldwide
WELLESLEY, Mass., 7 June 2008. The global market for thermal management will reach $11.1 billion by the end of 2013, after reaching $6.1 billion last year, according to analysts at BCC Research in Wellesley, Mass. This represents a compound annual growth rate of 10.3 percent.

Navy seeks IR sensor-based technology to enhance helicopter defenses against ground fire
WASHINGTON, 6 June 2008. The U.S. Navy is looking for infrared sensor technology to enhance the AN/AAR-47 missile warning system to help defend helicopters from small arms fire, anti-aircraft artillery (AAA), and rocket propelled grenades (RPGs).

Honeywell improves aircraft diagnostics expertise with acquisition of Intelligent Automation Corp.
PHOENIX, 4 June 2008. Honeywell Inc. in Phoenix has agreed to acquire Intelligent Automation Corp. (IAC) in Poway, Calif., a supplier of helicopter on-board diagnostic systems for military and commercial aircraft. The acquisition is subject to regulatory review.

VMETRO to provide liquid-cooled chassis and embedded computing for laser mine-detection system
HOUSTON, 29 May 2008. VMETRO in Houston won a second low-rate initial production contract from Northrop Grumman Corp. for components for its Airborne Laser Mine Detection System (ALMDS), which is deployed on helicopters to help the U.S. Navy detect sea mines at or near the water's surface.
