L-3 wins appeal of $126 million jury award to OSI Systems NEW YORK, 19 July 2008. L-3 Communications announced that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, regarding a jury verdict of $126 million obtained by OSI in 2006, found that "no reasonable jury could have found that L-3 owed a fiduciary duty to OSI," and concluded that "L-3 was entitled to judgment as a matter of law."

Cambridge Consultants has launched its prism 200 through-wall radar in the U.S. Prism 200 can locate people on the other side of a wall in dangerous and high-risk situations. The briefcase-sized product, which can be carried and used with one hand, employs sophisticated software to evaluate the position and movement of people in rooms and buildings both at the site of deployment and remotely on a laptop screen.
Vmetro unveils VPX system HOUSTON, 11 July 2008. Vmetro has introduced a five-slot VPX/VXS portable tower enclosure and backplane to accelerate and simplify VPX system integration and development. The Vmetro VPX/VXS portable tower's design enables exploitation of the backplane bandwidth of the company's FPE650 quad-FPGA and HPE640 hybrid-PowerPC/FPGA VPX boards, while enabling developers to integrate Vmetro's existing VXS boards into embedded real-time DSP systems.
