Curtiss-Wright Controls wins $8 million contract
CHARLOTTE, N.C., 15 May 2008. Curtiss-Wright Controls Inc., a manufacturer of mission critical systems for defense and aerospace applications, announced an $8 million contract award by General Dynamics C4 Systems and Rockwell Collins, Inc. to provide Curtiss-Wright General Processor Modules (GPM) for use in the Integrated Computer System (ICS) of the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) program.

American Science and Engineering gains $9.2 million ZBV order for a Latin American customs agency
BILLERICA, Mass., 14 May 2008. American Science and Engineering Inc. (AS&E), maker of x-ray detection technology, has received an order for multiple Z Backscatter Vans (ZBVs) for a Latin American customs agency. The order includes operator training, service, and warranty. Three of the systems will be configured with Forwardscatter capability.

Griffon Unit gains $64 million order for MH-60R Radar from Lockheed Martin
JERICHO, N.Y., 13 May 2008. Telephonics Corp.'s Radar Systems Division received a $64.6 million order from Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego for AN/APS-147 Multi-Mode Radar (MMR) and Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Interrogator Systems developed and manufactured for the U.S. Navy's MH-60R multi-mission helicopters. The AN/APS-147 provides the MH-60R and its host ship littoral and maritime domain awareness.

TSA expands testing of AS&E's SmartCheck personnel screening system to Los Angeles International Airport

Telephonics demos multiplatform networked intercommunications system at U.S. Army EMIP exercise

Telephonics Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Griffon Corp., demonstrated its NetCom-VTnetworked intercommunications system to U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps evaluators as part of the recent Army Expedited Modernization Initiative Procedure (EMIP) exercise at Ft. Electro Energy to continue developing high-performance rechargeable batteries

General Dynamics to supply cryptographic technologies for battlefield networks
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., 11 May 2008. General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, has been awarded a $6.5 million contract option to produce Engineering Design Models of the Advanced Cryptographic Module (ACM) for the U.S. Army's Programmable Objective Encryption Technologies (POET) program, following a recent successful Critical Design Review. This option modifies a contract initially awarded in August 2006 and brings the total contract value to $11.5 million.

Air Transport MRO market expected to reach $61 billion by 2017
Ann Arbor, Mich., 10 May 2008. The commercial air transport maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) market in 2007 was worth $45 billion according to the latest update of the AeroStrategy/OAGback MRO market model. This reflects a 10 percent increase over the 2006 market spend of about $41 billion. Growth of MRO spend over the next decade is expected to be 3.1 percent per annum, resulting in a market of $61.3 billion in 2017 (in constant $).
