Brazil's largest offshore fleet selects Blue Sky Network flight-tracking technology LA JOLLA, Calif., 2 April 2008. Blue Sky Network, the global logistics solution provider for two-way linking and managing transportation assets via satellite, announced that Líder Aviação has deployed Blue Sky Network's solutions on its Bell and Sikorsky helicopters. With 40 aircraft, Líder Aviação is the largest offshore helicopter fleet in Brazil.
Lockheed Martin team wins AMF JTRS contract to provide tactical communications and networking solutions CHANTILLY, Va., 1 April 2008 Lockheed Martin announced today that the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Joint Program Executive Office selected it to provide the tactical communications and networking solutions for the Air Force, Army, Navy, and other users.
GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms acquires process technology assets from MTL Instruments Group CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., 1 April 2008. GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, and MTL Instruments Group plc, have signed an agreement for GE Fanuc to acquire the assets of the MTL Open Systems Technology (MOST) product lines including the MTL8000 general-purpose I/O, intrinsically safe I/O, SafetyNet system, and process control technologies.
Army selects Smiths Detection chemical detectors, DOD awards $75 million contract EDGEWOOD, Md., 1 April 2008. The military unit of Smiths Detection, part of the global technology business Smiths Group, has won a contract with a potential total value of $75 million from the Department of Defense (DoD) to supply Automatic Chemical Agent Detector Alarm (ACADA) units.
Boeing submits GOES R proposal to NASA ST. LOUIS, 31 March 2008 Boeing officials today said they have submitted a proposal to NASA for the production of two next-generation Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites, known as the GOES R series, for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Emrise Corp. wins power supply order for U.S. military vehicles RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., 31 March 2008. Emrise Corp., a designer, manufacturer, and marketer of proprietary electronic devices and communications equipment for aerospace, defense, industrial, and communications applications, has received a $300,000 follow-on order from a major military systems integrator for power-supply products for a ground-support program for U.S. military vehicles.
U.S. Navy ceases funding of extended range guided munition contract WASHINGTON, 31 March 2008. The U.S. Navy will cease funding Raytheon's efforts under the Extended Range Guided Munition (ERGM) contract. Raytheon Corp. has been issued a letter notifying the company that in accordance with the Limitation of Funds clause of contract N00024-96-C-5204 that the Government does not plan to provide any additional funding under this cost-type contract for the continued development of ERGM.
Emrise Corp. gains $200,000 order for power supplies for U.S. Black Hawk helicopter RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., 30 March 2008. Emrise Corp., a designer, manufacturer, and marketer of proprietary electronic devices and communications equipment for aerospace, defense, industrial, and communications applications, has received an initial order of approximately $200,000 for power supplies for the U.S. Army's UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.
SYS Technologies to provide programmatic, engineering support to Navy SAN DIEGO, 29 March 2008. SYS Technologies Inc., a provider of information connectivity solutions that enable situational awareness and real-time collaboration, won a one-year task order valued at approximately $1.5 million to provide programmatic and engineering support for the Navy in the area of shipboard training systems. SYS also recently entered into a merger agreement with Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc.
FiberPatrol secures Qinghai-Tibet railway LANGHORNE, Pa., 28 March 2008. Optellios Inc.'s fiber-optic perimeter intrusion detection system has passed the final acceptance test for securing Qinghai-Tibet railway in China. The company's FiberPatrol system was chosen for final testing after it outperformed competition in head-to-head engineering trials. FiberPatrol was the only fiber optic sensor to pass the trials, which it did by demonstrating accurate intrusion detection with zero false alarms.
