Homeland Security Capital acquires Safety and Ecology Corp. for $20.4 million ARLINGTON, Va., 20 March 2008. Homeland Security Capital Corp., a company engaged in the acquisition, development, and consolidation of homeland security-related businesses, has acquired Knoxville-based Safety & Ecology Holdings Corporation (SEC) as part of its strategy to capitalize on opportunities within the homeland security industry. The acquisition is expected to generate revenues in excess of $55 million for 2008.

Aspen Global Corp. holding C3 Defense Inc. has received all necessary certification and licensure to enter the Private Military Security services market. The services offered will include but not be limited to: Training of Local Forces, Armed Site Security, War-zone Security Needs, Surveillance, Armed Support, and Air Support.
ITT to supply U.S. Army with night-vision tubes WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., 18 March 2008. ITT Corp.'s night vision division was awarded a $5.5 million Majorbus order from the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) Acquisition Center, Fort Monmouth, N.J. ITT was awarded 100 percent of the order for aviation image tubes, considered the heart of the night-vision goggle. The order will provide replacement spares in support of the military's reset initiative to repair and refurbish all battle-worn equipment.
NCI acquires certain assets of MTC Technologies Inc. RESTON, Va., 18 March 2008. NCI Inc., a provider of information technology and professional engineering services and solutions to U.S. federal government agencies, has completed the acquisition of certain assets of MTC Technologies Inc. These assets will be used to conduct business under the Program Executive Office Soldier, Project Manager Soldier Warrior, and Project Manager Soldier Equipment (PEO Soldier, PM SWAR, and PMSEQ) contract.
SpaceDev added to DARPA F6 program team POWAY, Calif., 17 March 2008. SpaceDev Inc. is on the team led by Orbital Sciences Corp., which was awarded a space technology demonstration contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The award is for the Future, Fast, Flexible, Fractionated, Free-Flying Spacecraft United by Information Exchange (System F6) space technology and demonstration program.
L-3 acquires HSA Systems Pty Limited of Australia NEW YORK, 17 March 2008. L-3 Communications has acquired HSA Systems Pty Limited of Australia, a provider of geospatial, marine, and electronic systems for maritime and defense customers. HSA has annual sales of approximately $10 million.
L-3 to acquire Northrop Grumman's Electro-Optical Systems business NEW YORK, 16 March 2008. L-3 Communications has entered into an agreement to acquire Northrop Grumman's Electro-Optical Systems (EOS) business for $175 million in cash. EOS is a maker of night-vision technology and electro-optical products for military, commercial, and public safety customers. The EOS business generated approximately $190 million of sales for the year ended Dec. 31, 2007.
Department of Homeland Security awards HSPD-12 task order to XTec Inc. XTec Inc. won a Task Order One by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for its HSPD-12 program. The purpose of Task Order One is to establish the DHS-wide HSPD-12 core infrastructure for the DHS enterprise. This infrastructure includes an Enterprise License for Identity and Credential Management Systems (IDMS/CMS), interfaces, and card issuance workstations to enable DHS to issue HSPD-12 compliant PIV-II cards.
iMapData provides Department of Homeland Security real-time situational awareness MCLEAN, Va., 14 March 2008. iMapData Inc. participated in a demonstration to reinforce the nation's integrated response capabilities in the event of disasters, emergencies, and terrorist activities. The demonstration was organized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Office of National Capital Region Coordination (NCRC) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
