Input estimates top federal information security opportunities at $812 million RESTON, Va., 3 March 2008. The Federal government is preparing to release 10 contracts valued at $812 million with work relating to agency information security efforts in Fiscal Year 2008 (FY08), according to a report released by Input. Eighty percent of the top 10 opportunities are recompete contracts, revealing the current focus on steady-state operations. Input expects the federal information security market to grow by nearly 10 percent between FY08 and FY09.
OSI Geospatial signs $2.2 million U.S. Marine Corps contract OTTAWA, Canada, 2 March 2008. OSI Geospatial Inc.'s U.S. Systems Operations has signed a three-year, $2.2 million contract to provide its command, control, and intelligence technology to the U.S. Marine Corps.
Smiths Detection gains $7.2 million U.S. Air Force contracts for HazMat indentification PINE BROOK, N.J., 1 March 2008. Smiths Detection, part of the global technology business Smiths Group, has received follow-on contracts from the United States Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency (AFCESA), totalling $7.2 million for hazardous materials identification equipment. The new contracts expand the original $4.5 million order placed in 2007.
S4 Inc. wins Information Assurance contract with Department of Defense, SDDC BURLINGTON, Mass., 29 Feb. 2008. S4 Inc. has won a contract to provide Information Assurance (IA) Technical Support Services to the US Army, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC). The IA program within SDDC was developed to improve the overall total security of SDDC systems and to protect interfaces to the Global Transportation Network.
SpaceDev to produce gear boxes for NASA Mars Science Laboratory POWAY, Calif., 29 Feb. 2008. SpaceDev Inc. won a subcontract in support of the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL), a key part of NASA's Mars Exploration Program. MSL is scheduled for launch to Mars in late 2009 to determine if Mars maintains an environment able to sustain microbial life.
ITT power converter used on Bradley Fighting Vehicle FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., 28 Feb. 2008. The U.S. Army Bradley Fighting Vehicle operates with ITT's new Multi-Mode power converter, ITT officials said during the AUSA Winter Symposium at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security selects Pictometry, ITT, Harris RF for Phase II of federal contract ROCHESTER, N.Y., 28 Feb. 2008. Pictometry International Corp., provider of digital, aerial oblique imagery and measuring software systems, along with Rochester-based subcontractors ITT Corp. (Space Systems Division) and Harris RF Communications, won a Phase II contract totaling $750,000 from the Department of Homeland Security to create a Real Time Airborne Management System (RAMS) for emergency scenarios.
Calian's SED Division to supply Ground Earth Stations to Inmarsat KANATA, Ontario, 28 Feb. 2008. SED Systems, a division of Calian Technologies Ltd., won a contract from Inmarsat, a provider of global mobile satellite communications, to provide new Ground Earth Stations (GES) that will support the delivery of classic aeronautical services over the Inmarsat-4 satellites. Work on the contract is underway and delivery of the first system is scheduled for the first half of 2009. The contract is valued in excess of $8 million Canadian.
BAE Systems and Navistar unveil Joint Light Tactical Vehicle prototype at AUSA Winter Symposium FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., 27 Feb. 2008. BAE Systems, through its Ground Systems line of business, and teammate Navistar International Corp. today unveiled a fully-operational system the team will use to compete for Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) program. JLTV is the U.S. multi-service initiative for fielding a family of future light tactical vehicles.
JIEDDO's Keesee to speak on anti-IED technology at Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum SAN DIEGO 27 Feb. 2008. Dr. Robin Keesee, deputy director for the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) will discuss a "Roadmap for COTS Technology/Electronics in a Fast-moving Threat Environment such as IEDs" at 2 pm on March 11 at the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum at the San Diego Convention Center.
