Cubic gains $18.7 million for virtual small arms training systems for U.S. Army, National Guard ORLANDO, Fla., 15 Feb. 2008. The defense segment of Cubic Corp. has received an $18.7 million order for Engagement Skills Trainer 2000 (EST 2000) small arms training systems and simulated weapons for the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. EST 2000, validated by the U.S. Army Infantry School, teaches marksmanship skills, squad-level collective defense, and judgmental "shoot-don't shoot" tactics.
WENR Corp. to launch first airship in March LOS ANGELES, 15 Feb. 2008. WENR Corp.'s strategic marketing partner, Airship Surveillance, is nearing the completion of its first airship, which is targeted to make its first flight in early March 2008. The airship will be used as a development vehicle for technologies and operations, and to showcase capabilities of future airships.
DRS Technologies to improve Bradley acquisition systems for U.S. Army Bradley Fighting Vehicles PARSIPPANY, N.J., 14 Feb. 2008. DRS Technologies Inc. has received two contracts totaling approximately $69 million from BAE Systems' Plc, U.S. subsidiary, BAE Systems Inc., to manufacture, test, and deliver Improved Bradley Acquisition Systems (IBAS) for U.S. Army M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles. To date, DRS has received approximately $180 million in contracts from BAE to support these systems aboard the Bradley vehicle.

ITT wins $18 million Navy radar system upgrade award WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., 11 Feb. 2008. ITT Corp. has received an $18 million contract from Naval Sea (NAVSEA) Systems Command as part of the AN/SPS-48 Radar Obsolescence, Availability Recovery (ROAR) program. This award allows ITT to move from the initial non-recurring development phase into low rate initial production.
L-3 Communications delivers OH-58D operational flight trainers to U.S. Army Flight School ARLINGTON, Texas, 11 Feb. 2008. L-3 Communications has delivered two OH-58D Operational Flight Trainers (OFTs) it to the U.S. Army's Flight School XXI program. Use of these simulators marks the first time that Kiowa Warrior aircrews have been able to hone their skills on a full-motion, high-fidelity flight trainer.
