U.S. Defense Information System Agency selects Alcatel-Lucent WiMAX solution for Joint Capabilities Technology Demonstration
VIENNA, Va., 25 June 2008. The Defense Information System Agency (DISA) has chosen Alcatel-Lucent's WiMAX wireless broadband technology from LGS, a subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent, after technical and interoperability analysis under its Tactical Service Providers (TSP) Joint Capabilities Technology Demonstration (JCTD).

QualSec to adapt olfactory sensory technology for Department of Defense applications
NORTH LOGAN, Utah, 25 June 2008. QualSec has applied for an SBIR grant to adapt its Nano-Nose electronic olfactory sensory technology for use by the U.S. Department of Defense. The Department of Defense has requested proposals for the development of an Autonomous Airborne Chemical/Biological Cloud Detection Sensor.

NCI wins $6.3 million task order to support U.S. Forces Command, Korea
RESTON, Va., 24 June 2008. NCI Inc., a provider of information technology (IT), engineering, and professional services and solutions to U.S. federal government agencies, has been awarded an approximately $6.3 million task order with a one-year base and four one-year options through the U.S. Army's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services (ITES-2S) contract.

Tetra Tech team wins NNSA program contract, to deliver radiation-detection units
PASADENA, Calif., 24 June 2008. Tetra Tech is part of a team led by SES-TECH Global Solutions of Bellevue, Wa., that was selected to support the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) under the Design, Integration, Construction, Communication, and Engineering (DICCE) small business set-aside contracts. The team will share in the $700 million contract ceiling over the next seven years.

Lockheed Martin to produce Multi-Function Towed Arrays for U.S. Navy
SYRACUSE, N.Y., 23 June 2008. Lockheed Martin won a $10 million contract to produce and support Multi-Function Towed Arrays (MFTAs) for the U.S. Navy's AN/SQQ-89 Antisubmarine Warfare Combat System. The work will be performed at Lockheed Martin's Syracuse, N.Y., facility.

MARLBOROUGH, Mass., 22 June 2008. Information warfare attacks on U.S. and allied computers and information networks are a serious and growing threat, and American civil and military authorities must find a better way to work together -- with each other and with allies internationally -- to counter this threat of cyber warfare, says a top U.S. military leader.

Luna to continue work on nanotechnology for military applications
ROANOKE, Va., 21 June 2008. Luna Innovations Inc. won a $3.9 million subcontract from General Dynamics Information Technology in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to continue work improving the performance of nanomaterials for military applications.

Crystal Group joins Northrop Grumman, Oshkosh in Joint Light Tactical Vehicle bid
HIAWATHA, Iowa, 20 June 2008. Crystal Group Inc., a veteran-owned small business and manufacturer of rugged, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom-developed computers and displays, has joined the Northrop Grumman Corp. and Oshkosh Corp. team that is competing to build the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV). The JTLV will replace the current fleet of military Humvees for the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps.

FLIR Systems wins contract from Naval Surface Warfare Center
PORTLAND, Ore., 20 June 2008. FLIR Systems Inc. won a $25.4 million firm-fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane Division, Crane, Ind., for its Special Operations Visual Augmentation Systems (SOVAS) Hand-held Imager-Medium Range (HHI-MR) systems. The units delivered under this contract are medium range thermal binoculars and will support ongoing Special Operation Force missions for surveillance and reconnaissance.
