The first-ever Robotics Rodeo, which encourages the development of autonomous systems in support of warfighters, is drawing the world's leading robotic designers and builders to the Texas-based event, hosted by Fort Hood's III Corps and the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center (TARDEC).

Maritime satellite communications antenna from Cobham to help with cleaning Pacific of plastic debris
CONCORD, Calif., 28 Aug. 2009. Leaders of the Project Kaisei effort to remove swirling concentrations of plastic trash in the Northern Pacific needed telephone and Internet satellite communications while working at sea. They found their solution from Cobham Satcom in Concord, Calif., and maritime satellite company Marlink S.A. in Brussels, Belgium.

Submarine sonar system upgrades for Virginia-class vessels to be done by Lockheed Martin
WASHINGTON, 21 Aug. 2009. Submarine warfare experts at the Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems and Sensors (MS2) segment in Manassas, Va., will provide submarine sonar upgrades for the ten existing U.S. Navy Virginia-class attack submarines, as well as new sonar system equipment for the next four Virginia-class boats to be built.
