Three contractors to develop GSE soldier communications and situational awareness systems
WARREN, Mich., 19 April 2009. U.S. Army leaders are asking three U.S. prime defense contractors to develop wearable Army communications prototype systems that integrate radios, batteries, software, body armor, and combat helmets to help infantrymen increase their situational awareness, decrease their reaction times, and reduce the risk of accidentally injuring or killing one another during network centric operations.

Gennum increases purchase price to acquire Tundra
OTTAWA, Ontario, 18 April 2009. Officials at Tundra Semiconductor Corp. and Gennum Corp. have amended the terms of their previous arrangement agreement, providing for the acquisition by Gennum of all the issued and outstanding common shares of Tundra. Gennum has increased the aggregate purchase price for all the Tundra shares from approximately $86 million Canadian to approximately $112 million Canadian, representing an increase of approximately 31 percent.

Sentinel Corp. combines with 24/7 Solutions to boost counter terrorism intelligence IT

Lockheed Martin to support ground radar systems for surveillance in the Amazon
SYRACUSE, N.Y., 16 April 2009. The Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors segment in Syracuse, N.Y., won a $1.6 million contract from the Brazilian air force to support six TPS-77 long range air surveillance radar systems that monitor air space in the Amazon region.
