Hybricon wins U.S. liquid flow-through cooling patent for avionics chassis AYER, Mass., 23 Jan. 2009. Engineers at chassis and backplane specialist Hybricon Corp. of Ayer, Mass., earned a U.S. patent for liquid flow-through cooling technology for air transport rack (ATR) enclosures for military and aerospace applications.
CSPI to provide FastCluster signal-processing computers for BAE Systems BILLERICA, Mass., 22 Jan. 2009. CSP Inc. (CSPI) MultiComputer Division in Billerica, Mass., won a $700,000 contract from the BAE Systems Electronics & Integrated Solutions (E&IS) segment in Burlington, Mass., to provide CSPI's FastCluster 2000 series digital signal processing (DSP) computers.
Air Force looks to ITT for connector assemblies for F-15E jet fighter-bomber CLIFTON, N.J., 20 Jan. 2009. U.S. Air Force officials needed flexible cable assemblies to connect weapons payload to airframe on the F-15E jet fighter bomber. They found their solution in the field replaceable connector system (FRCS) weapon umbilicals from ITT Electronic Systems in Clifton, N.J.
Esterline to acquire Racal Acoustics BELLEVUE, Wash., 19 Jan. 2009. Esterline Corp. officials announced an agreement to acquire United Kingdom (UK)-based Racal Acoustics, a leading provider of military communications equipment, from ECI Partners, a UK-based private equity group, for approximately $171 million.
Sofradir completes acquisition of Electrophysics; changes name to Sofradir EC FAIRFIELD, N.J., 18 Jan. 2009. Sofradir, an infrared sensor designer in Grenoble, France, has finished its acquisition of infrared camera manufacturer Electrophysics in Fairfield, N.J., and has change the name of the New Jersey operation to Sofradir Engineered Components (Sofradir EC).
Sierra Nevada Corp. acquires SpaceDev Inc. SPARKS, Nev., 17 Jan. 2009. Sierra Nevada Corp. president, Eren Ozmen, announced that SNC has completed the acquisition of SpaceDev Inc. SpaceDev has 170+ employees in its three locations: Poway, California; Louisville, Colorado; and Durham, North Carolina, adding a notable talent base to SNC's capabilities.
Lockheed Martin chooses Rockwell Collins for F-22 avionics testing and support CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, 16 Jan. 2008. (UNITECH). UNITECH provides interactive training and simulation, homeland security, and technical solutions to the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security, and other U.S. and international government agencies. The business will be managed by Lockheed Martin's Simulation, Training and Support division based in Orlando, Fla.
