Mentor Graphics and Valor sign definitive merger agreement
WILSONVILLE, Ore., 17 Oct. 2009. Mentor Graphics Corp. and Valor Computerized Systems Ltd. have signed a definitive merger agreement for Mentor Graphics to acquire Valor. Subject to satisfaction of regulatory requirements and approval of Valor shareholders, as well as certain closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close during the first calendar quarter of 2010, after which Valor will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mentor Graphics.

Laser company sale: Coherent acquires North American operations of StockerYale

StockerYale Inc. in Salem, N.H., which specializes in structured light lasers, LED modules, and specialty optical fibers for military, industrial, and medical applications is selling its North American operations to laser designer Coherent Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., for $15 million cash and liabilities.
