Rugged FPGA for aerospace and military embedded systems introduced by Xilinx SAN JOSE, Calif., 2 June 2009. Xilinx Inc. in San Jose, Calif., is introducing the Virtex-5Q family of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) for aerospace and military embedded systems involving secure communications, electronic warfare, avionics and vetronics, radar, missiles, munitions, and command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR).
Green Hills Software unveils added high-assurance software components certified for Integrity-178B RTOS SAN DIEGO, 1 June 2009. Green Hills Software Inc., maker of safe and secure operating systems, has announced the availability of three new high-assurance software components for its Integrity-178B real-time operating system during Avionics USA and the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum. The components include: an RTCA/DO-178B Level A-compliant Partitioning Journaling File System called PJFS-178B; an RTCA/DO-178B Level A-compliant network stack, IPFLITE; and an ARINC 615A dataloader.
DDC-I demonstrates Deos safety-critical RTOS with OpenArbor development tools at Avionics USA and MAEF 2009 SAN DIEGO, 1 June 2009. DDC-I, a supplier of software products and professional services for mission- and safety-critical applications, is publicly demonstrating its Eclipse-based OpenArbor development tools with the safety-critical Deos commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) real-time operating system (RTOS) at Avionics USA and the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum 2009 in San Diego.
Embedded systems supplier Curtiss-Wright introduces FPGA-based VITA 57 embedded computer HIGH WYCOMBE, England, 1 June 2009. Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing in High Wycombe, England, is introducing the quad channel ADC513 FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC/VITA 57) embedded computing module -- a 1.5-gigasamples-per-second 8-bit, analog-to-digital converter card that supports data throughput per channel of as much as 1,500 megasamples per second.
DDC announces ARINC 575 support for their new ARINC 429 products BOHEMIA, N.Y., 31 May 2009. Data Device Corp. (DDC) introduces ARINC 575 support for DDC's new ARINC 429 products including PMC, PC/104-Plus, and PCI-104 cards, featuring various ARINC 429 receive and transmit channel counts. The addition of programmable ARINC 575 support for each ARINC 429 channel on the cards allows for compatibility with legacy systems.
Murata Power offers power inductor components that resist EMI MANSFIELD, Mass., 31 May 2009. Power electronics specialist Murata Power Solutions in Mansfield, Mass., is introducing the 1200RS and 1200LRS series of inductors for providing power line filtering in low to medium current applications such as switching power supply circuits.
RFaxis debuts RF front-end integrated circuits TAIPEI, TAIWAN, 30 May 2009. RFaxis, an Irvine, California-based fabless semiconductor company focused on next-generation RF solutions, is readying its first two chips for debut: the RFX2401 and RFX2402. RFaxis' single-chip, single-die, RFX2401 and RFX2402 are poised to replace conventional larger, multi-die front-end modules, says a company representative.
Military battery charger from EaglePicher qualified for U.S. Air Force use JOPLIN, Mo., 27 May 2009. EaglePicher Technologies LLC in Joplin, Mo., is introducing the ASD-965-1 military battery charger, which has been qualified for military power use through the U.S. Air Force with the U.S. Navy.
Garmin receives FAA's first AML-STC for GPS/WAAS avionics on helicopters OLATHE, Kan., 25 May 2009. Garmin International announced it has been granted the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) first ever approved model list supplemental type certificate (AML-STC) for Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) avionics installed in a helicopter.
Rad hard single board computer for space avionics introduced by Aitech CHATSWORTH, Calif., 22 May 2009. Aitech Defense Systems Inc. in Chatsworth, Calif., is introducing the radiation hardened S950-02 single board computer for spacecraft avionics. The 3U CompactPCI 1 GHz rad hard embedded computer is an enhanced version of the Aitech space-flown S950 single board computers with increased processing power and data throughput.
