Fidelity Technologies Corp. refurbishes NAVAIR flight simulation motion system
READING, Pa., 19 Sept. 2009. Fidelity Technologies Corp. (Fidelity) of Reading, Pa., has refurbished the 2F141, MH-53E flight simulator motion system at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Va. The simulator is for the MH-53E helicopter and used primarily for Airborne Mine Counter-Measures, as well as missions of vertical shipboard delivery and assault support.

EMCORE, Northrop Grumman Partner to deliver solar cells for satellite programs
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., 18 Sept. 2009. The Solar Photovoltaics Division of EMCORE Corp., a provider of compound semiconductor-based components, subsystems, and systems for the fiber-optic and solar power markets, has entered into an agreement with Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Sector. According to the long-term supply agreement, EMCORE engineers will manufacture and deliver high-efficiency, multi-junction solar cells for Northrop Grumman's satellite programs.

NCI wins $48.9 million FORSCOM BRAC task order to provide engineering, testing
RESTON, Va., 18 Sept. 2009. NCI Inc., provider of information technology, engineering, and professional services and solutions to U.S. government agencies, won a task order valued at approximately $48.9 million, if all options are exercised. Awarded through the Total Engineering Integrated Services contract, the task order is in support of new headquarters facilities for the U.S. Army Forces Command and U.S. Army Reserve Command Base Realignment and Closure relocation from multiple sites.

Spain's emergency military unit orders mobile satellite terminals for mil apps
BERKSHIRE, UK, 17 Sept. 2009. VISLINK Law Enforcement & Public Safety (LE&PS) business unit announces that Spanish Unidad Militar de Emergencias (UME) officials have ordered three ADVENT 1.5m X-band NewSwift antenna systems to add to the seventeen 1.5m NewSwift mobile satellite terminals ordered previously. These units will be supplied by IT and defense system supplier INDRA.

VirTra gains simulation, training order from Saudi Aramco and Mexico
TEMPE, Ariz., 17 Sept. 2009. VirTra won an order for a multi-screen firearm training simulator system from Saudi Aramco and a multi-screen firearm training system for immediate delivery to Mexico, reveals Bob Ferris, VirTra Systems' CEO and president.

Solomon Technologies' power system enters field test phase
DANBURY, Conn., 16 Sept. 2009. Solomon Technologies Inc.'s Technipower subsidiary has completed the development and pre-production manufacturing of a high-power, fast-charging power system for the military. Technipower won the $800,000 contract last year and developed a robust system that increases the cycle time and accuracy of a tactical weapons system.

BAE Systems-Thales team demonstrates combat ID system to reduce friendly fire incidents
ABERDEEN, Md., 16 Sept. 2009. Engineers from BAE Systems and Thales have demonstrated the newest version of the jointly developed combat identification system to U.S. Army officials at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. This event marks the first time the system was demonstrated with a large, crew-served weapon on a U.S. vehicle.

Raytheon-led Littoral Warfare Weapons team achieves underwater launch
TEWKSBURY, Mass., 15 Sept. 2009. Raytheon Company demonstrated the underwater launch of a Raytheon AIM-9X air-to-air test missile shape from a submerged Tomahawk Capsule Launching System. This test is a significant step in demonstrating payload flexibility for submarines, says a representative.

Sypris wins multi-year U.S. Navy contract to supply data-recording systems
TAMPA, Fla., 15 Sept. 2009. Sypris Electronics LLC, a subsidiary of Sypris Solutions Inc., won a contract from the Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic for its Model 101e data recording systems. The three-year contract has a ceiling of approximately $10.5 million if all options are exercised. The award is in support of the Navy's Tactical Mobile Acoustic Support Systems (TacMASS) Anti-Submarine Warfare Analysis System.
