Long range anti ship cruise missile to be designed by Lockheed Martin for DARPA
ARLINGTON, Va., 26 July 2009. Cruise missile designers at two divisions of Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT) are designing the Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM) for the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, Va.

Lockheed Martin team passes requirements review for Navy submarine communications program
MARION, Mass., 25 July 2009. Lockheed Martin's team developing a Communications at Speed and Depth (CSD) capability for U.S. Navy submarines has completed the system requirements review. The capability will enable secure, two-way communications between submarines operating below periscope depth and at tactical speeds with surface ships, aircraft, and land-based assets. All classes of U.S. Navy submarines will be equipped with this transformational capability.

Fibertek/Sigma Space team win laser system support contract for ICESat-II
LANHAM, Md., 24 July 2009. Sigma Space Corp. won a Laser System Engineering Support contract from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center to the Fibertek/Sigma Space team. The Team is contracted to provide services required to design, test, fabricate, deliver, operate, and evaluate Space Laser Systems for the ICESat-II Advanced Topographic Laser Altimeter System (ATLAS) Instrument for the ICESat-II mission.

NCI wins $3.6 million Combat Information Transport System Network-Centric Solutions task order
RESTON, Va., 24 July 2009. NCI Inc., a provider of information technology (IT), engineering, and professional services and solutions to U.S. federal government agencies, won a task order worth an estimated $3.6 million to support the Air Force's Combat Information Transport System (CITS) Program Office. The primary place of performance will be at Hickam AFB, Hawaii, with performance expected to begin August 2009.

ITT's Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare System accepted by U.S. Air Force
CLIFTON, N.J., 23 July 2009. ITT Corp. executives have announced that its Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare System (AIDEWS), an integrated radar warning and jamming countermeasure system, has completed the Design Verification Test (DVT) and been accepted into the final Operational Flight Program by the U.S. Air Force.

NLOS-LS PAM Missile Team Demonstrates Capability Against Moving Targets
WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M., 23 July 2009. NetFires LLC, a joint venture between Raytheon Company and Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, completed the first moving target test flight of the Non Line-of-Sight-Launch System's Precision Attack Missile. The PAM missile, launched from the NLOS-LS Container Launch Unit (CLU), used the on-board, uncooled imaging infrared seeker to detect and track a moving T-72 tank traveling with other vehicles, says a representative.

L-3 MAPPS contracts Mechtronix to deliver components for Canadian Navy frigates' Battle Damage Control Systems
MONTREAL, 22 July 2009. Mechtronix Systems signed a five-year contract with L-3 MAPPS to design two BUS Access Modules and VME Cards needed to upgrade the Battle Damage Control Systems (BDCS) for the Canadian Navy's fleet of 12 Halifax Class frigates. The BDCS will aid damage control teams to better manage emergency situations ranging from fire, flood, and smoke to radiation and chemical hazard protection.

FLIR Systems announces delivery order for $36.8 million from U.S. Army
PORTLAND, Ore., 22 July 2009. FLIR Systems Inc. won a new delivery order totaling $36.8 million from the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Ala., for its Star SAFIRE III stabilized multi-sensor systems. The units delivered under this order will be employed in the Base Expeditionary and Surveillance Systems – Combined (BETSS-C) program in support of ongoing U.S. Armed Forces force protection efforts.

Harris Corp. wins $44 million in orders from U.S. Air Force for JTRS-approved Falcon III handheld radios, accessories
ROCHESTER, N.Y., 21 July 2009. Harris Corp., an international communications and information technology company, won $44 million in orders to provide JTRS-approved Falcon III AN/PRC-152(C) handheld radios and accessories to the U.S. Air Force. The radios will support the changing communication needs of the entire Air Force enterprise, including Security Forces, Special Operations, Combat Engineers, and Air Mobility Command (AMC), says a representative.

Raytheon to deliver GPS-aided Indian air navigation system
WASHINGTON, 21 July 2009. Raytheon Company won from the Indian Space Research Organization an $82 million contract to modernize the Indian air navigation system. Raytheon will build the ground stations for the GPS-Aided Geosynchronous Augmented Navigation System, and ISRO will provide the space segment and additional ground equipment. GAGAN will provide satellite-based navigation for civil aviation over Indian airspace and adjoining areas in South and East Asia.
