Missile defense radar contract against sea-skimming anti-ship missiles goes to Northrop Grumman WASHINGTON, 1 Nov. 2009. Leaders of the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington awarded a $26.6 million contract to the Northrop Grumman Corp. Sperry Marine segment in Melville, N.Y., Friday for four AN/SPQ-9B radar system sets for Navy surface warships.
KVH wins $10.2 million in orders for fiber-optic gyros for remote weapon stations MIDDLETOWN, R.I., 31 Oct. 2009. KVH Industries Inc. has gained new orders, totaling $10.2 million, for its precision fiber-optic gyros (FOGs) for use in remote stabilized weapon stations (RWS) from two major defense contractors. Shipments are expected to be completed before the end of the first quarter of 2010.
PSI gains $8.3 million task order to improve Defense Health Information Management System on the battlefield FALLS CHURCH, Va., 30 Oct. 2009. Planned Systems International Inc. (PSI), a provider of information technology (IT) solutions and services to the federal government, won a task order from the Defense Health Information Management System (DHIMS) Program Office to provide operations and maintenance support to AHLTA-Theater (AHLTA-T), the military's electronic health record for the military theater environment.
Raytheon wins $9 million to support ship self-defense system for U.S. Navy TEWKSBURY, Mass., 29 Oct. 2009. Raytheon Company won a $9.6 million modification to an existing U.S. Navy contract to serve as the platform systems engineering agent for the Ship Self-Defense System. Raytheon will integrate the Dual Band Radar currently in production as part of the Zumwalt-class destroyer program, the Evolved Seasparrow Missile (ESSM), and Rolling Airframe Missile Block 2 to improve the warfighting capabilities of SSDS-equipped ships.
Northrop Grumman tests prototype antenna for Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar active electronic scanned array BALTIMORE, Md., 29 Oct. 2009. Northrop Grumman executives have tested a prototype partial array antenna to be developed as the U.S. Marine Corps' new Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) active electronic scanned array (AESA). All objectives were met without incident at the Connecticut test range, explains a Northrop Grumman representative.
CSC to provide U.S. Department of Homeland Security with IT infrastructure, cyber support FALLS CHURCH, Va., 28 Oct. 2009. CSC won from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) a task order to provide information technology (IT) infrastructure and cyber support to the National Protection and Programs Directorate's Office of Cyber Security and Communications. The task order was awarded under the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE) contract, originally awarded to CSC in July 2006.
ITT wins $169.3 million U.S. Navy radar upgrade contract CLIFTON, N.J., 28 Oct. 2009. ITT Corp. won a $169.3 million contract from Naval Sea (NAVSEA) Systems Command as part of the AN/SPS-48G Radar Obsolescence, Availability Recovery (ROAR) program. The five-year contract has a base year value of $29 million, plus options for four subsequent annual awards.
General Dynamics wins $50 million by U.S. Army for Land Warrior engineering, logistics support SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., 27 Oct. 2009. General Dynamics C4 Systems won a $50 million contract to supply the U.S. Army with engineering and logistics-support services to help ensure that Land Warrior integrated modular fighting systems used in combat remain in operational condition for soldiers. The contract is valued at $19 million, covers one base year with two option years, and has a total potential value of $50 million if all options are exercised.
Savi provides DOD with RFID supply chain tracking technologies MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif – 26 Oct. 2009. Savi, a Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] company, won orders totaling $6.6 million for standards-based active Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tracking technologies and accompanying services under the U.S. Department of Defense's (DOD's) RFID III procurement contract.
Global Hawk UAV goes to work for NASA to monitor environmental conditions on Earth EDWARDS AFB, Calif., 25 Oct. 2009. The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in Washington is starting to operate the high-endurance Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from Northrop Grumman Corp. in Los Angeles to monitor environmental conditions on Earth.
