Shared Spectrum teams with Raytheon to employ DSA software in EPLRS-XF military radio VIENNA, Va., 9 Oct. 2009. Shared Spectrum Company (SSC), a provider of Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) wireless technology, and Raytheon's Network Centric Systems are teaming to use SSC's DSA software on the Raytheon Enhanced Position Location and Reporting System -- eXtended Frequency (EPLRS-XF) radios.
DARPA extends OEwaves' contract to develop compact frequency agile electro-optic oscillator PASADENA, Calif., 9 Oct. 2009. OEwaves engineers will demonstrate the feasibility of a compact, wideband tunable, ultra-high performance microwave oscillator suitable for radar and communication systems. The technology will support small platforms, such as unmanned vehicle systems. The approach combines a fiber-based OEO for achieving high spectral purity with a unique modulator based on the optical WGM resonator.
Army contracts Raytheon to improve helicopter pilots' situational awareness MCKINNEY, Texas, 8 Oct. 2009. Raytheon Company won from the U.S. Army a $13 million contract to develop additional sensor prototypes for the Advanced Distributed Aperture System, which gives helicopter pilots 360-degree situational awareness.
ATK provides AAR-47 Missile Warning System components for U.S. and allied military aircraft MINNEAPOLIS, 8 Oct. 2009. Alliant Techsystems won a $49.3 million contract from the U.S. Navy for the procurement of AAR-47 Missile Warning System components for the U.S. military and allies. These systems include both the AAR-47 A(V)2 and B (V)2 configurations. The majority of work will be performed at ATK's Clearwater, Fla., location, and is expected to be completed in early 2012.
Javelin Joint Venture wins $214 million to produce Javelin Weapon System for U.S. Army surveillance, situational awareness TUCSON, Ariz., 7 Oct. 2009. The Raytheon Company - Lockheed Martin Javelin Joint Venture won a $214 million U.S. Army contract to produce the Javelin Close Combat Weapon System. The contract includes the Javelin missile, command launch units (CLUs), and training and field support.
Jacobs wins extended engineering, science contract at NASA Johnson Space Center PASADENA, Calif., 7 Oct. 2009. Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. won a three-year extension on the Engineering and Science Contract (ESC) at NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) with an estimated value of $978 million. This extension brings the total contract value to roughly $2.16 billion through January 31, 2013, with an eight-year total period of performance.
Harris Corp. demonstrates JTRS battlefield networking technology on Falcon III manpack radios WASHINGTON, 6 Oct. 2009. Harris Corp., an international communications and information technology company, has demonstrated the exchange of high-bandwidth voice, video, and text over a Falcon III AN/PRC-117G radio network using wideband waveforms developed by the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) program.
Raytheon to deliver combat training solutions to U.S. armed forces in Kuwait RESTON, Va., 6 Oct. 2009. Raytheon Company has won a contract to improve, deliver, and maintain an advanced combat training program for U.S. Armed Forces and coalition partners in Kuwait. The multiple-year contract, which begins this month, is awarded through the U.S. Third Army Command. The base contract is valued at $44 million and is part of the Warfighter Field Operations Customer Support (FOCUS) program.
Rockwell Collins delivers Ground Soldier Ensemble prototypes WASHINGTON 5, Oct. 2009 Officials at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, today announced that the company has delivered 10 prototype systems for the U.S. Army Ground Soldier System (GSS) Increment 1 program, which will enhance soldiers' effectiveness on the battlefield. The announcement was made during the Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington.
GPS-guided 155-millimeter artillery rounds provided to U.S. Army by Raytheon TUCSON, Ariz., 5 Oct. 2009. Raytheon Co. in Tucson, Ariz., is providing Excalibur Ia-2 155-millimeter precision-guided munitions for U.S. Army artillery systems under terms of a $73.3 million U.S. Army contract announced late last week.
