Overview:
Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology will enable warfighters with different radios communicating on different frequencies to communicate seamlessly on future battlefields through programs such as the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS). Software defined radios basically receive a particular waveform, whether a legacy one such as SINCGARS or a new one and pull up the appropriate version in real-time, enabling different radios to speak to one another. This webcast will discuss the challenges engineers face in implementing SDR technology in military communications systems.
